17 arrested in Lamu for drinking during curfew

Seventeen people were on Sunday arrested in Mpeketoni, Lamu for drinking during curfew hours.
Police officers came across the bar at which the 17 were drinking and shouting at around 10.20pm while on patrol.
The Lamu county curfew takes effect between 6.30pm and 6.30am.
Arraigned before Lamu senior principal magistrate Johnstone Munguti on Monday, all the accused pleaded guilty to the charges and were fined Sh1,000 or a three-month jail term each.
