SERGIO AGUERO and MARCOS ROJO Engage Each Other Over Girlfriend ON The Eve of Manchester derby

The pair have been on unsavoury terms since Rojo invited the ex-husband of Aguero's girlfriend into the Argentina dressing room during the World CupA bitter feud between Sergio Aguero and Marcos Rojo has erupted again on the eve of the Manchester derby.

The Argentina stars come face to face at the Etihad with not only three points at stake but an old score to settle. The row, involving Aguero’s girlfriend, was the reason the in-form City striker pulled out of a kids’ coaching session alongside United defender Rojo on Friday in the East Manchester district of Ardwick as part of the Premier League Kicks initiative.

City officials were left red-faced when Aguero refused to attend at the last minute claiming he had to pick up family members from the airport. “Where is Sergio? asked Rojo, before adding: “Perhaps he is a little scared. The pair became embroiled in a blazing row during the World Cup when Rojo invited the ex-husband of Aguero’s girlfriend, Karina Tejeda, into Argentina’s dressing room to celebrate the win over Nigeria.

Aguero started dating Karina after his marriage to Diego Maradona’s daughter, Giannina, broke down two years ago. But he flew into a rage with Rojo when his girlfriend’s former husband - another Argentine pop star called Ezequiel “el Polaco” Cwirkaluk - appeared in the dressing room after the victory in Port Alegre.

Aguero had to be dragged away from Cwirkaluk by team-mates before angrily squaring up to Rojo.
And the hostility between the City striker and United’s new £16million centre-back became such a concern that Argentine officials were forced to step in to restore the peace.
Rojo said he would mark Aguero in the match “with a degree of firmness.” Mirror uk

Football Kenya Federation have punished Gor Mahia and Sofapaka for the unrest witnessed during Sunday’s Kenya Premier League match at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
The governing body fined Gor mahia Sh500,000 and ordered they play their remaining two KPL matches in an empty stadium.
Sofapaka, the home team, were fined Sh300, 000 as the federation, in a meeting with stakeholders yesterday, found them at fault in failing to provide adequate security for the volatile encounter.
“After perusing all the relevant documents and match reports it was noted that Sofapaka FC were the home team in the match and were responsible for the provision of adequate and elaborate security for the match,” read a statement from FKF chief executive officer Michael Esakwa.
“However it has been established there was inadequate security at the venue for such a high profile match in a violation of Article -3.5 of the Rules of Kenyan Football.”
The Federation also faulted the Machakos County Government led by governor Alfred Mutua for fining Gor mahia Sh10m and banning them from using the stadium, saying “they did not channel their claims to FKF/KPL as they lack the jurisdiction to fine or ban teams.”
FKF President Sam Nyamweya observed the trend has been worrying and warned strict measures will be imposed next month including the docking of up to 15 points from teams found guilty of failing to control their fans or provide adequate security. The federation also moved in to settle the dispute following the abandoned match betweenTusker FC and Muhoroni Youth.
Following yesterday’s meeting, Esakwa said: “It was unanimously agreed that indeed Tusker FC fielded 12 players thus violating the rules governing football on the number of players.”
“After interviewing the match officials it was established the four match officials, centre referee Andrew Juma, first assistant Peter Kiereini, second assistant Oliver Ouma and fourth official Yassin Badir were at fault. The officials were sanctioned. Juma was reprimanded, Ouma handed a three month suspension while Kiereini and Badir were suspended for six months each.
“Tusker FC technical bench officials comprising of head coach (Francis Kimanzi) and assistant coach (Leonard Odipo) were also found guilty of contributoing to the confusion which led to the substitution and were each fined Sh100,000 payable in seven ( 7 ) days,” added Esakwa.
“The committee after perusing the match reports found Tusker FC guilty of serious violation on the football rules and therefore awarded the match to Muhoroni Youth FC on a 2 - 0 basis.”
The match was abandoned in the 76th minute after Muhoroni Youth players complained that Tusker had twelve players in the field of play.

 Oljira produced exciting finishes
Kenya’s James Rungaru and Ethiopia’s Belaynesh Oljira produced exciting finishes to take victories over 10 miles on the roads at the Bupa Great South Run in Portsmouth, United Kingdom on Sunday.
In cool, blustery conditions, the 21-year-old Rungaru, who represented Kenya in the junior race at the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, settled into a lead pack that included his compatriots Joel Kimutai, winner of the Bupa Great Birmingham Run last weekend, Emmanuel Bett, who was second at that race and who won on the English south coast last year, and Uganda’s Abraham Kiplimo, the 2014 Commonwealth Games marathon bronze medallist.
Among the leaders in the early stages was Australia’s Michael Shelley, the champion over 26.2 miles in Glasgow, yet his challenge faded after the halfway point when a 4:28 mile, the quickest split of the day, saw the group reduced to four. By the seventh mile, Bett had dropped out following a series of surges from Kiplimo and the Ugandan appeared to be developing a small lead over Rungaru, with Kimutai a further 200 metres back in third.
Yet Kiplimo, despite looking composed at the front, hadn’t saved enough for the final two energy-sapping miles into a strong wind and it was Rungaru who galloped across the finish line in 46:31, seven seconds clear of Kiplimo in second place. Kimutai held on for third in 47:21.
“I had prepared well and I knew I could make it,” he beamed. “This was my first time running at the Bupa Great South Run and I felt great. For the last two miles, I knew I still had some energy and I just tried to push.” Rungaru’s attention now turns to realising his ambition of once again representing his country: “I’m preparing now for cross country, I want to represent Kenya again.”
In the women’s event, home favourite Gemma Steel, who has placed in the top three at every race that she’s contested in 2014, once again worked hard, only to see Oljira storm past her in the final metres. Ethiopia’s 2013 IAAF World Championships 10000m bronze medallist recorded 52:40, a personal best for the distance, to the Brit’s 52:42, while Kenya’s Doris Changeywo, the runner up at the Bupa Great Birmingham Run, was third, in 54:18.
Following a slow start, Steel had taken the initiative and a series of five-minute miles saw the 25-year-old pass the 10km mark in 32:50, having succeeded in dropping many of her rivals. The one athlete who wouldn’t yield however, was Oljira, who timed her run perfectly.
“I tried to make it as hard a race as I could,” explained a disappointed Steel. “I got rid of them one by one, but unfortunately for me, there was one still there and she hung on to me before passing me at the end. I’m used to being the bridesmaid and never the bride.” Steel’s reaction contrasted sharply with that of Oljira, who danced up to the top of the podium to receive her prize.
“It was good,” she smiled. “The wind was very strong, but I’m ok. I am very happy with the win.” With the peak of the road race season coming to a close, the 24-year-old is unsure what the immediate future holds, although as a bronze medalist at the last World Cross Country Championships she is well set to challenge again in 2015. “I don’t know when I will race again. I will talk to my manager, but I hope to compete at the World Cross Country Championships, but maybe I’ll do another road race first,” commented Oljira.

Shaw insists United are a scary team

Luke Shaw has kick-started the build-up to the Manchester derby by warning United are becoming “a scary team to face”.
The England left-back claims they are making progress under Louis van Gaal and beginning to rediscover the aura which made them so feared under Sir Alex Ferguson. And he believes that when United have all their absent stars - including Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao - back and firing, no-one will relish facing them. The dramatic draw against leaders Chelsea on Sunday has given the players confidence and Shaw said: “It has been a fight, but we talk in the dressing room and at training and we know we’ve still got the best to come.

RVP defends celebration

Robin van Persie has defended getting booked for taking off his shirt as he celebrated his dramatic last-gasp equaliser against Chelsea. Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal rapped the striker, claiming he was "stupid" to collect such an unnecessary caution. Van Persie knows he should have kept his shirt on, but says he got carried away by the emotion of his strike at the end of yesterday's 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
"I know it's one of the rules that you have to keep your shirt on, but sometimes you forget and everything comes together and the whole place explodes," he said.
